6th, 7th & 8th Grade Students enrolled in Indian River Middle School
Monday-Thursday: 2:15 pm – 5:15 pm
The IRMS After School Advantage/Army Youth Program will follow the school year calendar and operate when school is in session. (The program will not operate during school vacations and snow days.)
Indian River Middle School
Following the end of the regular school day, students will remain at the school campus. If arranged at the time of enrollment, transportation is provided free of charge to all program participants.
There is no cost to families of the students.
This program is funded through the NY State Office of Children & Family Services and U.S. Army Child & Youth Services

Snack & Chat
Students will enjoy a healthy snack and positive social interaction.
Opportunity for students to complete their homework and receive additional assistance.
Students will participate in a variety of recreational activities.
Students will participate in a variety of activities including Interest Clubs of their choice, Speakers Forum, Life Skills Development, and Community Service.
Based on student input and interests, special clubs are offered including drama, book, arts and crafts, games and fitness. Each club engages in specific activities and events targeted to the student’s interest area.
The Life Skills Development:
This curriculum helps foster important development traits including responsibility, respect, healthy relationships, and good social skills.
Students identify and organize projects to serve their school and/or the greater community.
To promote community awareness, cultural diversity and career interest, speakers are invited to present programs on their particular areas of expertise.
The Torch Club moderates meetings of the entire group, solicits feedback for activities and improvement, reports back to their peers, and helps implement community projects and special events.
